How to speak English proper


Proofread carefully to see if you any words out.

Exaggeration is a billion times worse than understatement.

Who needs rhetorical questions?

Even IF a mixed metaphor sings, it should be derailed.

Go around the barn at high noon to avoid colloquialisms.

Puns are for children, not groan readers.

If you've heard it once, you've heard it a thousand times: Resist hyperbole; not one writer in a million can use it correctly.

Eliminate quotations. As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "I hate quotations. Tell me what you know."

Understatement is always the absolute best way to put forth earth-shaking ideas.

Use words correctly, irregardless of how others use them.

Never use a big word when a diminutive one would suffice.

Eliminate commas, that are, not necessary. Parenthetical words however should be enclosed in commas.

The passive voice is to be ignored.

Analogies in writing are like feathers on a snake.

One-word sentences? Eliminate.

Eschew ampersands & abbreviations, etc.

Comparisons are as bad as cliches.

One should NEVER generalize.

Do not be redundant; do not use more words than necessary; it's highly superfluous.

Foreign words and phrases are not apropos.

Contractions aren't necessary and shouldn't be used.

No sentence fragments.

Also too, never, ever use repetitive redundancies.

Parenthetical remarks (however relevant) are (usually) unnecessary.

Be more or less specific.

Also, always avoid annoying alliteration.

Avoid cliches like the plague. (They're old hat)

It is wrong to ever split an infinitive.

And don't start a sentence with a conjunction.

Prepositions are not words to end sentences with.

Verbs HAS to agree with their subjects.

I'm getting married on the weekend

So yes, I got back to Townsville today after being away for almost 2 months, fought through the crowd and finally gave my fiance a hug!!!

Thank you Lord for hugs.

I get to marry her in 2 days. WAHOO! People have been asking her if I've been having cold feet. I cried when the plane touched down because I knew we were in Townsville and I would get to see her again. I absolutely can't wait to marry her and be her husband. I love her soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much.

Questions? Comments? Outbursts?

I'll just add that the only way to love someone completely is to make yourself completely vunerable to them, let them know everything about you, yours loves, hates, desires and weaknesses. If they love you back in the same way then you are headed for one magnificent relationship because you can love each other for what they are and help each other overcome weaknesses or bad habits.

The main thing you need for a healthy relationship is communication.

Slightly larger update

Ok, I have slightly more time now.

So yes, I've now got my own unit (which I will soon be sharing with my wife) I've bought a whole host of things for it which cost quite a bit. So far I've got:

Freezer

Microwave

Kettle

Toaster

Blender

Pots and Pans

Lounge Sweet!!!

Iron

A water bed (got fined for filling it up though, water restrictions and all)

and a washing machine!

Some of those we already had from engagment presents and the likes.

I've also been loned a fridge a single bed (until I had the water bed) and a car! How generous.

The church I've found (with help from a friend who coincidently goes there) is really great. The people are lovely and the teaching is usually quite good. The worship is really great.

I'm getting married in 8 days. EIGHT DAYS!!!! Yet it still isn't soon enough. I can't wait for my best friend to become my wife and life long partner. *HUG* for you Talia if you're reading this.

So a big hug to everyone out there who is bothered enough to check this. Drop me an E-mail or give me a call if you're bored. If you don't know my number, find someone who does!!!

Well the title says it all.

I'm getting married. I can't wait. It's still 9 days away it soooooooooo annoying, I wish it were now.

*sigh* 6 days till I get to see my girl.

I wish the name of the blog were true

I don't feel like laughing.

I'm really sad. My beautiful fiance is in Townsville about 1600km away and I wont see her for another 5 weeks. I can't live without her. It's not possible.

Sorry for not being happy. I said I always would be, but I'm not. I could do with some help, pray for me. That would definitely help. If you're feeling like you want to be part of answered pray you could donate a return ticket to Brisbane for Talia to the "James and Talia really miss each other(TM)" fund.

My beautiful girl got me an engagement ring. I told her I wanted one and she got me one!!! It's taking a bit of getting used to, but I love it!!!

A song I just made up, (like three seconds ago)

That's all I've got so far.

I really want a good long hug. From Talia would be preferrable, even encouraged.

Update... GASP!!!

Ok so a quick update on my life. I've moved to Brisbane for my job, just done my first day there. Pretty boring so far, but I'm sure it'll get interesting soon enough. Special day! 14 months ago today I asked Talia to be my girlfriend, and 2 months ago, I asked her to be my wife. In 3 months and 21 days she WILL be my wife!!! How exciting is THAT??? VERY!!!
